They are made of red acrylic shaped into a large teardrop shape. The post is made from a hypoallergenic nickel and lead free metal. I did not experience any irritation while wearing these earrings or any rash. I cleaned the earring post with a bit of rubbing alcohol and they were perfect. All those earrings are really large and look heavy they are not. They were perfect for my vampire cosplay as the red resembles a large blood droplets and perfectly suited my outfit. These earrings can be quite elegant as well they do come in a many colors that look very much like raindrops and a green color which would be perfect for christmas.
