My favorite rear tire so far
I like this tire a lot for a rear tire. It's got great traction, great grip, great handling, and it's tough. Note that the EXO sidewalls are significantly weaker than the EXO+ sidewalls, and super easy to pinch-flat, so inserts are definitely recommended for this tire.

Maxxis Rekon is a really good tire and is really good for most trail conditions
Do a lot of mixed trail riding and some downhill. These tire companies need better patch kits for large thorns. I have a tubeless setup with half the tread life left but have to throw the tire away because a patch kit isn't good enough for a 2mm sized thorn hole...Is the premium worth it over lower cost 2.3 and 2.4" tires? I would say the better traction and ability to run lower pressures has prevented multiple crashes and is overall a safer way to ride trails at higher speeds.

Go-to All around trail tire for SoCal. Pricier every year, but...
Good all-around trail tire for SoCal trails. Faster rolling than a Minion, and better braking than pure XC tires.
